Kennedy Creek Old Time Music Festival (facebook) Sept 10 -13 / Suches, Georgia /// ...the lady running the show / Esther M. Morgan-Ellis / is a wonderful lady and first class fiddler. Small event - around 500 last year - great fun - just the right size.
The event is free to the public, but food , drink, and lodging (cabins, yurts, RV, and reserved camp sites) are provided for fees with the site management (Kennedy Creek Resort). All the events (dance, workshops, concerts) are free. Jams all over, all day.
My wife and I will be there again this year - with friends from Florida. Let me know if you're going. I'd love to meet up with FHO friends.

I see that they have their own airport. It would be great to fly directly in from Dublin
I wander if they have 'duty free' at the airport as well.

lol... they do. And its fun to watch the small planes taking off / landing / and "buzzing" the strip. It's a very entertaining event. The food is great = and (for those interested) there is a wet bar serving adult beverages.
They have cabins as large as 3 bedroom, and a dorm that sleeps 16. We stayed in a yurt last year, with a queen bed. Comfortable. Taking an RV this year,
We will be staying in our Altos Safari Condo (R1723) this year - we love it.

The old Reno air races back in the twenties used to attract hordes of crowds that turned up to see them crash. People have a fascination with aeroplane crashes. I know because I still own one.
