I am looking for a simple app which will download Youtube vides as MP4 files. I had been using one that worked fine, but started becoming inconsistent and acting like I was trying to rob Fort Knox. Security is fine, but not in the extreme. I started asking me a question. I did not even what the question was asking for.

Meanwhile, YT created so many hurdles to be jumped, before I could actually see a video (I refuse getting commercials being pushed down my throat, just as revealing to them all that's none of their business).
All of that can be managed to a reasonable degree by using Download Helper.
This, combined with privacy enhancers No Script & Ghostery and the 'auto erase cookies after closing down' feature of my Firefox browser, keeps everything manageable
Billy's got a good workaround. Yesterday I ran my tablet to blutooth out to a Fly3 amp. Then aux. out to my looper pedal. But it could have been any device.
The YT content contributer controls if they want the content to be download able.
If the content is available, my android tablet takes care of it. No app ness.
Not a tool to download, but I use this browser extension in Google Chrome to learn tunes from YouTube: transpose.video/ (I only use the free version)
You can set up multiple loop points, transpose without changing speed, change speed while keeping pitch and so on. Very useful!
