Here's how to insert a picture into your post using another website image host.
(Thanks Woodwiz for showing me how to do this long ago.)
1. Open an account on Photobucket.com (it's free, but you have to register).
2. Follow their prompts to upload the .jpg image to photobucket.
3. Click on the "IMG Code" tag underneath photobucket image to copy the URL to your clipboard.
4. Go to FHO and write your post. When you are at the point you want to insert your image, press Ctrl-V and this will paste the URL code into your post.
5. To check to see if it all worked, click on the preview button.

huh- I finally got it down - but I do it from the "reply to topic" (not quick reply)
there is an icon that says add image when you mouse over it - you click it, and then get "imgimg" showing -
you get your cursor centered right in the middle, and either control v or copy (from edit menu)
and then post, going back to check -

Hi Jen,
You're right, my instructions assume you are posting a new topic or clicked on "Reply to Topic." I've not tried it from Quick Reply.
As you've found out, clicking on the "Insert Image" icon that is in the posting format bar does not walk you through the process of inserting an image. All this icon does it insert [img] before and after the URL address that you must insert beforehand.
By the way, if you use Photobucket and click on the IMG code to cut and paste the URL into your text, you don't need to use that "Insert Image" icon.

John-
Your directions will work fine in Quick Reply.
