Shana Aisenberg offers lessons on fiddle, mandolin, acoustic guitar, banjo, ukulele, fretted dulcimer and more; specializing in American roots styles including traditional old time Appalachian, fingerpicking blues and bottleneck, swing, bluegrass, Celtic and New England contradance music; also Eastern European folk styles such as klezmer, Balkan and Scandinavian; also incorporating music theory, improvisation and fretboard knowledge when needed. Shana is a welcoming and patient teacher, and offers private lessons and group classes, both in person and online.
Shana performs with duo partner Beverly Woods; has written various instructional books for Mel Bay; recorded, produced and played on over 50 albums; and composed music for films. In 1981, Shana was a triple winner at the prestigious Walnut Valley National Flatpicking Championships, Winfield, KS, placing in fingerstyle guitar, mandolin and fretted dulcimer categories.
