Here is the singing version, sung by John Wesley Messer, circa 1977, at the age of 87 years old. Gramp grew up in Tweedside, NB, Canada, and worked in the lumberwoods. This is a song he always sang to us, and one which I play on the fiddle. Sorry for the poor quality.

I like this signing version so much! At my college many students are listening it. Moreover, when I was doing my assignment about Australian musicians, this track inspired me to quality work. Previously I've asked for help assignment experts ( for example, au.edubirdie.com/assignment-provider”>check them out) but with this track things are changed!
