Wow - I owe you one for this.
I'd never even heard Frankie Rodgers play - let alone hearing him play this tune.
He's a really, really good fiddler. It's no wonder almost nobody plays it the way he does.

I always seem to prefer the composer's playing of a tune, to others, even when others are more technically proficient. This guy's deffinitely no slouch. Nice little touches.

Thanks for posting. It's way different than I've heard in jams or on other recordings by other fiddlers. When was this written and recorded by him?

I have 3 LP's of Rodgers. Ookpik is only on the Maple Sugar LP and that is circa 1960's me thinks.
