Yea, Percy! Great tone, great intonation, wonderful bow control and soulfulness. You've really improved since I've been on the site. Of course, it goes without saying that the tune itself is inspiring to play.

Thanks so much... I can really hear my mistakes -- I was totally rushing the phrasing at the end. I don't do that when I'm just playing for me -- but then hit that "record" button and I'm off to the races!!!
But you are so right -- it's an inspirational tune. The story behind it is heartbreaking. Seems like I gravitate towards those!

Great Job! Like mudbug said, great intonation, tone and can tell you put a lot of feeling into your playing.

Thanks -- but of course I hear where the intonation isn't perfect and the timing is off in places... but overall, I think there's hope!
And yes, I'm just a sentimental old fool when it comes to beautiful tunes! *S*

One of my favorites. My teacher and I have been messing with it (her favorite, too).
YOU hear the warts. WE hear a beautiful rendition of this tune. Great job, and thanks for sharing.

par a beautiful tune well played! One of my new year's resolutions was to be less critical of myself- especially in public. I'm going to hold you to it, as well! :-)

Interesting. I was just playing this tune on my fiddle when I said to myself "I wonder what Percy is up to?" Sounds good.! And I know what you mean about recording. I despise wires and devices. I love to play live for people. Without people it is artificial.

And that was almost a year ago already!!! Time is flying by. I'll have to have another go at recording and see if there's been any improvement!! But thanks for the kind words Shawn!!!

Beautiful. One of my favorite songs. Have you heard Jenna Reid's version from "The Transatlantic Sessions" with Aly Bain?
