NIce fiddling from Mr. White. You should check out the original. It can be found on Joyce Cauthen's fine collection of Alabama fiddlers, Possum Up a Gum Stump. The fiddler on the original is Monte Sano Crowder; he learned it from his father, who brought the tune with him when he moved to Huntsville from Cookville, TN. Crowder is just one of the amazing fiddlers on that collection of commercial, home, and field recordings.

Hey thanks for the historical background Bubba !! Believe it or not, my mother is a Crowder.
I will definitely check out Cauthen's CD !!!
I'm glad you liked Mike's version. He had simplified and slowed it down for presenting to the workshop. I heard him play it later with his group, but didn't have my recorder handy for that one.
