Well - that doesn't sound too bad at all.
I've heard wooden fiddles from Sears & Roebuck that sounded worse... ;-)
You might start a new trend - how long do you think a gourd fiddle will last?

Its pretty tough I see no reason why it would not last for good with some care... kinda the same as a gourd banjo to a steel string banjo...best tuned lower. I am sure with the more of them I make the more I will re enforce the gourds. Jeff
