Nice version and good playing - thanks for uploading it.
I've not heard the part you play as the "2nd" part before. I think the "source" recording of it is a two part tune with the first part played an octave lower than you're playing it - though it is common to play the 1st part where you're playing it.
Do you remember where you got the 2nd part?

the 3 part version is from The Volo Bogtrotters cd "old time string band with vocal accompaniment"
the liner notes credit Luke Highnight's Ozark Strutters and Gary Harrison. I believe The Ozark strutters are the source, with the first and third part. So maybe Gary Harrison is the source for the middle part?

Nice playing. H K Silvey (Ozark County Mo.) does that one on the rounder cd. Alton Jones is also on that cd. Lots of good fiddlers in Ozark County. Another good tune on that cd is "Broken Down Gambler" By H K Silvey. Post some more good tunes.

shame on me! i have those Ozark cd's and overlooked H.K. Silvey, what a great player. sometimes i suffer from having too much music available to me. I have always enjoyed Alton Jones playing though.
