Not kin to the Piney Woods or Pineywoods Gal everyone knows. This is a bird of a different color. Played by Dempson Lewis before his death. A crooked tune to be sure. Origin unknown.

Sounds a little like Temperance Reel, especially in the 'A' part !
(Perhaps some of those present could also have benefited from 'temperance'?)

I have just signed up, this is my favorite music in the world. Thank you jfones for putting this out there. Beautiful. Are these field recordings from later in the lives of Dempson and Denmon. I am familiar with the four sides they recorded for victor but this new stuff is unbelievable. Is there more that was recorded I would love to hear it. Thanks so much.
