Great playing.
This tune is called "Pike's Peak" on the County Records "Echoes of the Ozarks" CD that was recorded in the 20's in Memphis and St. Louis. The fiddler was named "Ted Sharp" and that lone recording seems to all that's known about him.
It's not much played here in the East because of the need to get up to the octave on the E string.
Wonder how the title "Rat Cheese" came about and whether the tune was known under that title before Sharp recorded it.

Hmmm - now I see that Kessinger recorded it under that title.
Still looks like Sharp might've recorded it first though.
