Haunting! Nicely sung.

By the way, have you heard "Little Mattie Groves"? Some of the wording reminds me of Mattie Groves. Do you have any idea of where Lady Margaret and Sweet William came from?

Little Mattie Groves... hmmm... I don't think I've heard it, but I will definitely look it up! I'm afraid I don't know much about the history of Lady Margaret and Sweet William. I've heard it on both the album 'Songs from the Mountain' (I think it was Tim O' Brian singing, but not positive), and also the lady fiddler sings it on the album 'Dona Got a Ramblin Mind' (Carolina Chocolate drops). I don't know where any of them got the song, but it would be an interesting thing to look into...

Here's an old version of Lady Margaret & Sweet William
These tunes don't have the same melody or words, but there is just enough, the thing about the sheets and feather bed, etc. to make me think they have a common thread somewhere down the line. I wonder which came first, the chicken or the egg?
Keep singing, you have a really beautiful voice.
