You
the second time through when you start the double stops
it picks up noticeably. You are getting a good backbeat with that shuffle-
it sounds like a Nashville Shuffle!

You really are making progress-

Nope, it's closer to GA. One note on the upstroke dig, then three note slur. One note dig, three note slur. :-) Thanks!

You're getting a nice sound out of your fiddle BJ. Warm and sweet. Nice tune. Where does it come from?

I'm playing the Stockdale fiddle on this tune. That's the handmade one from Springfield, MO. Thanks!

Oh, I just realized, you might be asking about the origin of the tune, not the fiddle! I'm not sure. I got it off fiddlejammer's jam tapes. She might know more about it.

Not sure if I left the verbiage at the end of the recording, but it's attributed to Rhys Jones as far as I know. All kudos due and I always encourage folks to go buy something from folks who make their living at this. He's a very talented fiddler, in case there's anyone reading here who doesn't know his work. Go now and Google.

Well, I just fired off an email to Rhys through MySpace to find out for sure. If it's non copyright it'll stay up. If it's his, hopefully he'll give permission and let me know it's okay for it to stay.

You have good intonation, you set up a pretty good beat, and your timing is good!
This isn't the Carter Family song (obviously) which goes by the same title. I could picture Rhys Jones playing this one. Seems to fit his style, I suppose. I have a lot of respect for his fiddling abilities. I've picked up a few tunes from him.......You did a good job on this tune. (And I think I can tell you're in hi-base (AEAE) tuning, if my ears don't decieve me.

Yes, bsed, I'm in AEAE. Thanks for the kudos. Y'all are very encouraging. It makes me feel like I actually might have a chance of being a fiddler someday . . .

Another really neat tune. You've got a really good feel for the music. And I do really hear a lot of improvement from your first clip in August. Very cool.

Oh what a lovely laid back bit of fiddling!
I really like the way you catch that double stop on the off beat.
