LOL! I blew the last note something terrible! But the rest of the song is passable, at least for me. I'm dating this so in a few months I can revisit it and have something to compare with. 8-1-08

That is a cool tune. Do you learn by ear, reading music, or tab.?

I can read music and tab both but choose not to, since I do it painfully slowly, and don't seem to retain it when I "learn" it by reading. I've always learned easiest by ear. I can remember back in the fifth grade as we played our recorders the music teacher yelling at me to LOOK AT THE MUSIC, and NOT OUT THE WINDOW!

Bj--this tune loves the Nashville too! And this tune is played everywhere I go. At the big CBA campout (California Bluegrass Assn.) this oh so awesome fiddler (and killer banjoist, guitarist, etc.) busted out this tune, and it was one of the best. This guy kept a simple melody going--but he varied his bowing from Nashville to Georgia--and I thought, "WOW! I can do that even." Sometimes some of the "simplest" songs can be the best.
Okay, I'm listening again to what you're doing. Nice tone coming through. Is it a real nice fiddle? And I do think that once you get the Nashville down, you'll start lengthening out your bows and really enjoying the different "feel" the pattern will give the tune. And I LOVE that last note! I do that all the time!

LOL! Humbled, I recorded this six months ago, back in the stone age of my playing . . . I think it would rate "sucks to be you, dude" on the Good Bad O Meter.

I like what you do rhythmically at the beginning of your phrases--slight anticipation, syncopation almost.
