Here is a simple Gypsy Style tune in D Harmonic minor. I learned this from Mary Ann Harbar's Gypsy Violin Basics book.

good job on that one ...Just checked which book i've got of hers, and it must be another one because it's just called "Gypsy Violin" and it hasn't got that tune in it.....

Pete_Fiddle; yes, that's a different book you have, more advanced and "classical" leaning then her other book. The Gypsy Violin Basics book is a lot more beginner friendly. The other two resources I have been using to learn more of this style are Peter Cooper's Eastern European Fiddle book (Excellent!) and Lisa Gutkin's DVD "Klezmer Fiddle", which is really good for learning the slides and ornaments and third position shifts for this type of stuff. Alternating between all three of these is really giving me a good start on this style.
