What tuning are you using on that tune?

Standard tuning in D Dorian. You could probably also do in in ADAE.
For some reason, modal tunes get done a lot more in A in Old Time, but since I'm a singer, I sing it where I'm comfortable singing it, and that's usually down in D... I play a lot of fiddle tunes that I sing words to down one string so I can sing it comfortably. For instance, I take Golden Slippers and Eighth of January down from D to G, and Old Joe Clark and Cluck Old Hen down from A modal to D modal.
Actually though, now that I think about it, Lazy Farmer may have been in D modal in the first place... it was recorded on a 78.
Narmour and Smith???
