I fell off my chair when I saw you played "Red Hill Polka" !! That's one of the 2 or 3 Bob Holt tunes I can handle. You do it up with GUSTO!!!
My wife's guitar playin' arm just about falls off a few minutes in to this tune...I can't stop playing once I start it. Holt was incredible.

Excellent rendition Kirk, et al.
Bob Holt learned from Allen Street String Band (either their tape or from Bill Rintz or Dave Landreth). Allen Street learned it from a woman fiddler (I'm not sure if they got her name or not) when they were playing at Red Hills State Park in IL. I think Dave had to run a mile to get the tape recorder, but he got the job done and lived to tell about it. :-) The source had no name so they started calling it Red Hills Polka.

Really fine playing on this one, Kirk, and a catchy tune, too.
