Made mainly out of match sticks and popsicle sticks, by a prisoner in an East Kentucky prison.

Now I've seen a whole lot of tramp art and prison art in my day, but I have NEVER seen anything like this! Wow. Does it actually play? Or is it purely a showpiece?

Thanks bj -- It is pretty amazing as prison art. This Voodoo fiddle plays fine, but it does sound rather like an instrument made out of match sticks and popsicle sticks! In other words, thin tone, not much volume, clumsy to hold. The bow has little camber.

Homer Ledford, the late great dulcimer (and everything else) builder from Winchester, KY built his first fiddle at a young age, maybe 10 or so. It was a matchstick fiddle.
