This was carved by my great grandfather, Luke Hankins in 1893, the year my grandmother Jessie Hattie Hankins Hale was born. Luke would be Twelvefret's great, great grandfather. This was built for women to mount horses sidesaddle. Jessie married Charles Hale, a violin maker.
