After clamping the fingerboard to the neck and letting the hide glue harden, I filed, then sanded the sides of the fingerboard. I also softened all of the edges, especially the sides of the fingerboard. You cannot feel the transition from the ebony to the maple of the neck. I did not round the fingerboard where the nut will be going......that remained nice and square.
