The neck and fingerboard had a pronounced bowing. When the fingerboard was removed, a small piece fractured off and it was noticeably curved on the bottom (glued) surface. For this reason, I purchased a new ebony fingerboard. I dampened the wood of the neck and clamped it along a rigid sanding block several times throughout the week, which removed much of the bowing. Some light sanding did the rest.
