I'm playing an early 1900's signed G. A. Pfretzschner Markneukirchen violin through my first (wired) ATM pro 35 clip-on mic plugged into an ART Tube MP preamp (still my all-time favorite signal path). I had to make the bracket for the clip-on by grinding down a cheapo plastic chinrest since my chinrest was too low to accept the clip without rubbing against the violin top!
