Oh, VERY pretty! How's she sound? Is the walnut mellower?

Walnut is one of the top 3 "alternative" woods I use currently. For me sound is #1 and beauty is second. Walnut is a powerful wood that has great harmonics. A 5 string I made of walnut was also the violin that Bobby Hicks selected so it must have a good sound.
This violin went to Eric Bowles who has played with some big name groups.
I currently have 4, 5 strings on the workbench. Two of the four are walnut.
Thanks for your compliment.

Wow. What a beautiful instrument. I have always loved walnut. My great-great-grandfather was a gunsmith who made longrifles, and his shop was surrounded by walnut trees, and eventually he made all of his stocks out of walnut. I just checked out your website, too. Very nice! Thanks for posting.
