That is an interesting idea. How did it turn out? How many styles of music were represented?

Hi Michael. The event's Web site can probably explain it all better than I can:
makemusicchicago.com/
Our group consisted of faculty, students, and friends of the Old Town School of Folk Music. Events were held all over the city, from street corners to Orchestra Hall. As for styles: I was only participating for a few hours, but I saw classical musicians, a klezmer band, middle eastern music, and a few others. I don't know if the organizers would call it a success, but I sure would. This was the first year, so we'll see how and whether it grows in the future.

I checked out the website. What an amazing event. Lot's of photos there including some more of you in a church with a large group of musicians. Hope this event makes it to Seattle!

If Seattle has some sort of arts council, which I'm guessing it does, then maybe you could write to them and suggest it. Apparently it's a worldwide event.
