The one and only time I got to play with Greg Hooven. He passed away about six months or so after this session. God rest his soul, I've raised quite a few beers to him since.

I have just registered a website, greghooven.org. My hope is to create an archival resource for audio and video recordings of Greg as well as photos. Greg has been gone almost 7 years, and those of us who knew him both as a musician know the influence he had on the Old Time community. It is my hope that we can collectively pool our photos and videos of Greg in an effort to allow those who've entered the old time scene since 2005 to be able to see and learn from his playing. Greg had a style all his own, and I feel like his playing has relevence to the history of this music. If you would like to submit anything to be placed on this website, you can email it to greghoovenarchives@yahoo.com . I've just started building the site but should have it up soon.
