A recent painting. 'Catamount' is an older term for varieties of large cats such as mountain lions, bobcats, panthers. I've seen mountain lions around here and one roams the wooded slopes behind my sister's house, which probably triggered this painting.

I really like this painting! In Robbinsville, NC, where we have a cabin, they call them "Painters". I kept wondering what "Painter Creek" and "Painter Gap" meant. So I guess janepaints painted a painter. How 'bout that!
