Doesn' t really capture the vista very well. Our east horizon from the north to the south is the Chugach Mountains. No development, all woods, mountains, and creeks - with a bunch of critters. Belongs to Fort Richard / US Army. I'm looking at a nice sized bull moose in the backyard as I type. Our little mini-Dachshund is having a fit.

Not sure exactly. Guessing - about +/-2 miles to the closest foot.
Boy my spelling is terrible. Time to go clean it up.

Wow, that is gorgeous. I don't know if I could handle the dark you have up there in the winter...I can barely handle our winter darkness...but I do miss snow. Thanks for the beautiful picture. Reminds me of when I lived out in a little cabin on a national park boundary. Felt like I had the whole world in my backyard. Enjoy!

Long nights in winter, and long winters - for us - can get weary at times. It's still beatuiful. And the flip side is the long summer days. I mean daylight at midnight - in fact it never gets really "dark" in the summer. It's easy to forget how late it is getting when you're having fun. And you certain don't want to tell your kids be home by dark.
