I went to high school at our church school in Mexico and two boys in school found him outside and brought him to me (I have had birds since I was 11). Popeye was scalped and he ended up blind from the infection because he wasn't found soon enough. I was able to save his life, though, and now he is living in Mexico waiting to be imported. You can see more pictures of Popeye here (be warned--they aren't all pretty): http://www.rims.net/AliceDove/ Popeye is one of the sweetest doves you'd ever meet.
Plein air painting just means painting that's done outside rather than in a studio. I didn't draw that picture of Popeye, a friend, Becky, did that for me. I paint with oils. If you want to see some plein air art you can see some pictures here: http://www.tpaps.com/Artist%20Member%20Gallery.htm
