This is my uncle & my mentor, Junior is teaching me old time music. he is a master fiddler in the coal river country here in WV. He has never worked at nothing but music. plays banjo, guitar ,fiddle ,mandolin he is a genious with strings & is a blast to be around. He has no phone & no running water. Junior heats his house with wood & coal he washes his clothes & bathes in a washtub & has an outhouse for a bathroom. His transportation is his feet or a biycle. I wil put some of his music on this site.

How does he earn money to buy strings - by fiddling?

well Junior digs gensang & yellowroot (he says that yellow root will just about cure a man of any anything) he makes some money doing that. He has some mental isues & receives a little over five hundred a month ,he is 71 years old. I have seen him use mandolin strings E, & A, on his fiddle. I will try to put some of his music on my fiddle hang out site when i can figure out how to do it. thanks for the question.

He is definately A one of a kind, and my wife is behind me siting on the couch saying (thank goodness).
