I am a novice player and no authority on violins. It has been an interesting and learning process. My first was an “Appalachian” $65.00 beginner. Next was a “Lugar model 350 for $300.00 used. I traded the Lugar and $100.00 for the Wm. Lewis. The tag only says William Lewis & Son. Highest quality strings. There is no model number or date. No country of origin. The instrument looks like all better quality Chinese violins. In the shop the price tag was for $600.00. We traded as mentioned earlier. I liked it as it sounded and played better than the Lugar. It is in very good condition with no flaws or scratches. It is apparently nearly new. It sounds adequate for my limited skill level. I would like information as I hope to upgrade again. Thanks...John Maddox, Raleigh
