Started playing Irish mandolin around 1993 and then started playing bluegrass around 1995. Saw the Frieghthoppers in Winfield, Kansas in 1997 and made the switch to old time. I just moved to Boulder, CO with my girlfriend Carrie who is a wonderful old-time banjo player. She's from Winton, Minnesota (3 mi northeast of Ely). I am from an unincorporated township near Embarass, Minnesota.
