I'm a member of the Nashville Old time String Band Association and love it! I play Old Timey, Bluegrass, Country and some Celtic Fiddle and always working on other styles that are known out there. Cajun fiddle is fun also. I'm really influenced by Canadian/ Cape Breton style fiddle and also some Metis fiddle tunes such as Red River Jig being that I born and raised in Michigan very close to the Canadian border. I can read Treble and Alto Clef sheet music which I have discovered is Gold in Nashville since most people cannot read sheet music here. I can also play by ear for the most part but still needing help now and then if I'm unable to fully make out the note(s) in a fiddle solo or tune. Since living right in Nashville, TN as of 9/24/2007 I've learned the Nashville Number System and most of all, the easiest and real way of playing a fiddle which has helped me to learn other styles and discover my true God given talent for fiddle playing that I never knew I had in me. I occasionally sit in with bands in downtown Nashville, TN on broadway playing country fiddle solos until I can get more down before I playin on the weekends..
