Purchased approximately 20 yrs ago from Florida estate of a professional violinist. Have appraisal from then that this is a Jean Joseph Honore Derazey copy of a Gaspar da Salo, made by Derazey in France between 1830 and 1839. Bearded man's head instead of scroll, inlaid scene on the back, and Latin carved into the ribs.
