This is a great handmande bow by Alex Moro, from Port Townsend, WA! Weight is about 58 grams. Nothing wrong with this bow at all. Comes with the certicficate of origin as well.
Alex Moro is a bow maker living in the Pacific Northwest. Using the finest wood, Alex works with hand tools and great precision to release the utmost potential in every bow. This attention to detail translates directly into the musician's hand exuding confidence in performance. One can find an appreciation for the old French makers, particularly Tourte, Persoit, and Eury, in his style- raw, direct, expression of form. He also draws artistic inspiration from vintage surfboards and boats.
Before becoming a bow maker, Alex worked on repair and restoration of historic wooden boats. His appreciation for nautical design and fine detail led him to bow making and eventually a formal training with Christopher Dickson in 2020. He then studied with Ole Kanestrom and received guidance from Charles Espey. Alex is a member of the International Pernambuco Conservation Initiative (IPCI) devoted to sustainable use of Caesalpinia echinata, the primary wood in modern bow making.
