This is a 100+y/o E Martin Amati Violin. It is in excellent shape for its age. It currently sports a new bridge and the fingerboard has been shimmed. Additionally it has a Wittner Zuerich chinrest and has a few end button options: a weird plastic, a hollow titanium, and a solid titanium. (all included) It has a set of D'Addario Pro-Arte strings installed as well as a titanium loop E fine tuner.
This is a lovely violin, especially for its age. There were a two small cracks in the bass side C bout that were professional addressed. There is a very tiny chip on the top plate near the treble side of the fingerboard. Naturally, a few other small dings (age marks), but otherwise in truly excellent condition.
I normally go for dark toned instruments, and this one is no exception. I would not part with it except that it is very tonally similar to my favorite violin that just edges it out with sonic superiority. Silvery and open is how I'd define its tone. Like the other violins that I am posting, it is just not being played enough and I do not think it is fair to an instrument of this age and quality.
