Selling pair of early American fiddles made by Samuel Gunn in Poughkeepsie NY. I have three of his fiddles and and think I’m keeping one for myself even though I hate to break up the set. These fiddles are going to need some restoration work but nothing serious to the instruments. One fiddle measures 14”in length the other is 14 1/2. They also come with provenance family paper work showing that they were used through several generations of the family. Samuel’s father, Abel Gunn fought in the Revolutionary War under George Washington and was in the party that crossed the Delaware with General Washington. His son fought in the Civil War for the 6th Regiment, New York Heavy Artillery Division. An interesting family history for some interesting fiddles. Let me know if you have any questions.
