I was fortunate enough to spend a few days with Billy Mathews before the Mountain View Festival this past April and he played this rag for me. I fell in love with it and began to try to play it later on his porch. He came out on the porch and put my banjo in a new tuning for me (ADAC#E). What a fun tuning! I really had lots of fun trying to work tunes out in this tuning. Later that eve Billy played the tune briefly with us and I got this recording. So now I can't seem to stop trying to work out all the D tunes I know in this tuning. Darn banjo tunings, it occupies more and more of my brain power.....how will I get anything else done anymore?
