This is a great version of Durang's. I always throw people for a loop playing it. Still it is my favorite version. I'm a big Bruce Greene nut.

I have a bunch of recordings of Jake Phelps that Bruce Greene recorded back in the 70's. It's on there and I assumed Bruce got it from Jake. I just checked the Digital Library of Appalachia and I could not find it so I uploaded Phelps playing it to my music section.

I believe Bruce got Big Mule, which is on his Five Miles Of Ellum Wood CD, from Jake as well.

OK, as y'all can see, this is my second post. How do I play the file? I love Durang's Hornpipe; Benny Thomasson taught me to play that tune about 25 years ago.

Johnny,

I think the easiest way
is to click on Chirp's name in blue
on one of his posts;
that takes you to his Fiddle Hangout Home Page.
Then either click the music button around his picture,
or scroll down below his "Friends" avatar photos to
click on "music files",
then click on the file name to play it, or right click
and pick "download" to download it...
I think I got that right...

I posted our Durang's Hornpipe at YouTube. Thanks Chirps and Larry for sharing the great version.
