Also known as Carol of the Bells, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carol_of_the_Bells

I am using a Charles J. Horner mandolin and violins with bass guitar using a D-18. I am featuring the mandolin and trying to match the violin and guitar rhythmically.

Is it Christmas time already?!?!?

Seriously, that was really quite the good job of playing. Also, the arrangement of instruments was fine. I'm trying to figure out how we can add some finger-picking banjo, but no, maybe not.

Some strange, ringing overtone or feedback at 0:56. Also, I would have lowered the amplitude of the fiddle just a slight bit to allow the mando more presence. Otherwise, this is really one of your best recordings. Well done.

Regards,
Tom

That was very pretty, Chuck. I like that song any time of the year.

No, you really should. If you lived closer you could borrow one. There are several banjo makers in you part of the world, Tom. Get an openback though, much lighter.

Cheers,

You could have a rudimentary understanding pretty quickly.

The banjo is a very fun and relaxing instrument to play and many OT fiddler played the banjo. I play a two finger thumb lead style I worked out myself and a clawhammer version I learned from YouTube, R.D. Lunceford, and Clyde Davenport.

Beautiful choice of song. Nice arragement, kind of a Klezmer / gypsy jazz treatment. I liked the descending harmony fiddle line. Kept my interest all through the song. Great job!!!!!

Yes, it is, but she's all grown up now and probably hates this picture, but my wife especially is fond of it.
