I just uploaded another made up tune on my homepage called Marian's Waltz in the key of A and played on cross-tuned AEAE. This one's a waltz. It's fun to play and challenging to keep the timing correct.

I named it after my wife's grandmother and got to play it for her on her 90th birthday bash. She thought it was kinda special to have a tune named after her. I played it for her in D on a standard tuned fiddle, so it wasn't as "extreme" as the fine and course parts of this crosstuned A fiddle. She passed away last fall and I played She'll be Coming Round the Mountain at her funeral as she made me promise I'd do for her.

Comments, critiques, input welcome as always. Thanks for listening! I've got a few more originals that I'll put up as my courage allows

i really like the fast, driving beat in this tune. I guess it's pretty unusual for waltzes to have this much drive, but its a really cool effect.. Great work and keep posting your tunes.

I think the drive of this tune reflects the energy of my wife's grandma. That woman was full bore all the way to the end, which is the best way, I reckon. Full of energy and life.

Some Cajun waltzes can have alot of bounce and drive. I've heard Jolie Blon done quick and it gives alot of energy when done that way. I could slow this one down, too, I guess, but I tend to play fast anyway, it seems. One of my buddies said this tune sounded Cajun.

Hey, i listened to that with a good set of headphone and man-0-man.

That fiddle's got some great tone. It sure likes to be tuned that-a-way.

Listen to that last note. . . SON! ! ! !

Now, do Big Scotia kinda slow so we can hear that fiddle. HEeeee Heeee

Thanks there, sir. It's a new (old, and cheap, but GOOD) fiddle I have (thanks to Seabilliau for buying my other one so I could buy this one).

Been messing with it ALOT slower today. I think that may be the ticket on this tune. Still WORK IN PROGRESS (as all my stuff is...).
