Guess that's what happens when you get a bunch of whiz-kids together (no reference to McNamara). ![]()

Thanks, MD, that's a talented bunch of musicians! I would call that more of a "newgrass" sound than "progressive OT." In any case, they sound great together.
Cheers,
Tom

Just wondering if anyone knows of a source for the sheet music for Red Rocking Chair? (fiddle)
M-D - Posted - 03/01/2009: 16:56:21
I just found that the song is notated in Wayne Erbsen's Southern Mountain Fiddle. I've not heard his version, though.

Isn't the second tune called sugar babe here the same as red rocking chair?
Do you know what the first tune is?
M-D - Posted - 03/22/2009: 09:59:58
I've heard the first tune before . . . it sounds like The Last Waltz. That's probably not it, though?
I think so, as a lot of the verses travel. I know of another song that also has that name, but is quite a bit different.

Well, I dont think they will make a CD. Might be some more of such recordings, but I dont think they plan to do anything a formal as a CD. You might be able to catch them performing somewhere in the NE, too.

oh, well keep those "recordings" coming! and where do they perform in the NE?
M-D - Posted - 03/27/2009: 18:24:51
No idea where all they perform. Berklee (at Boston) has many ensembles, etc., besides the bluegrass and old-time ones, including Matt Glaser's. Might be something listed on the Berklee web-site, www.berklee.edu or at the Berklee Performance Center, www.berkleebpc.com
The individual members also perform on their own, with other groups, and do studio work on the recordings of others.
