Nice tune. Was it played by one of them Mississippi stringbands? It sounds very Mississippiish (God, I love typing that word!)![]()
Just call me Dwight.

That mic makes for good recording quality, nice. Even nicer that the playing you recorded was sounding so good!! Fun stuff, that tune :D
No more violence, more violins!!!

Thanks! Mic'ing fiddles ain't easy, that's for sure. I had the Rode above and in front of me by about 18", with the mic body aimed at my chin. The capsules are arranged in XY configuration, so they point to the sides of the instrument.
As the name indicates, it's a Mississippi tune from Willie Narmour. Bruce Molsky teaches it, and I think it's on Brittany Haas's debut CD.

Very, very nice. I think the "old" Freight Hoppers did this tune on one of their early CD"s. Their version seems coarser, and is done at breakneck speed. I like your "elegant" version much better.

Gosh, high praise indeed, thanks.
I had forgotten about that recording, but I like it. David Bass puts his stamp on everything he does.
