It does seem like slides are intended, although it’s easy to see how it’s confusing, as slides are typically notated with straight lines, and the marks here look more like slurs. The recording demonstrates the ornament in the B part clearly. I think the transcription could have been written more clearly to reflect the intent.

That was my thought- a slide.
