Hi all, I'm not a fiddler, although I work on violins, and will enjoy the repairs section of the forum.
I'm looking for information on a fiddler by the name of Guy Blakeman - he's kin to my fiancee and I've gotten curious, and hopeful, to learn a little more about him.
Search engines return pretty much the same info regardless of source, which is why I'm taking a different direction. It'd be great to get some insight from someone that may have heard him play, played with him, or is otherwise familiar with him. Given that he was born in 1911 and died in 1992, it's doubtful, but you never know.
What I do know is that he lived in the Kentucky/Ohio area, won some fiddle contests, did some recording (including Chess Records), and as I mentioned, shows up in a variety of Google searches.
It's a long shot, but you never know. Many thanks in advance - much appreciated!
