Chuck,

JP was a deceptively simple player. He makes it look easy but playing like him is a real challenge. I first heard JP and Annadeene play Dusty Miller 35 years ago this past September and it knocked my socks off. I have sat knee to knee with the man learning his tunes and he never ceased to amaze me with the understated beauty of his fiddling. One year at Clifftop he was late to get into the senior fiddling contest and borrowed a fiddle. He hit a lick on it and looked at it unapprovingly, then mounted the stage and preceded to win the contest.

You are getting there, keep working on it. You have chosen a high mountain to climb.
