Anyone have any experience with Grace Audio’s Felix2? So far it has out “preamped”all the others I’ve tried but I haven’t moved internal jumpers. Nothch? High Pass filter? EQ suggestions?
Thanks yall.

I've never seen one, but I looked at the owners manual. Lotsa knobs and squiggers there - looks quite versatile, if you need all that. It looks like most parameters can be changed with the DIP switches on the side panel and I certainly wouldn't be in any hurry to start moving jumpers around, unless I had a specific problem. DIP switches are enough of a pain already.
Not really possible to give much advice on EQ, etc., since you didn't provide any details about your setup or what problems you're facing. One thing though is that the low string on a standard violin is about 200 Hz, and getting rid of anything below that will probably result in cleaner sound (this is mentioned in the manual). I used to do this routinely for fiddles and mandolins in live shows, if the console had high pass filters. In this case, setting the HPF filter at about 150 or even 175 Hz is probably a good idea. Beyond that it really depends on what you're trying to achieve, the sound of your instrument, and the specific environment you're in.

Hey DOug, know why almost every fiddle I mic or have a pickup on feeds back on open D? I used plug up the F holes on my old Barcus Berry because of that.

These things are the industry standard for those acoustic musicians who plug in. All I can say is DO IT!!!

I’ve never tried one, but the only complaints I’ve ever heard have been about the price, not about the features or performance.
