musicworks.co.nz/eastman-vl200...-vl200bst
this is NZ, so its around $310USD for a whole kit, including violin and case
eastman seems to have pretty good reviews online. and once in the shop near our place, my daughter will try and then can decide to keep or return for a refund. so safe bet it seems.
anyone with experience with eastman, even with the vl200? thank you.

Eastman makes good introductory level instruments. The bow is essential to producing good tone. What would be best if you could take a fiddle playing friend to test drive the instrument. While you are at it buy a mute. When starting out on violin you make noise not music. R/
