A week ago I posted some info on a fiddle found by a friend at a local auction. Opinion of the experts here validated my thoughts on it being yet another German trade fiddle sold here in the early 20th century. The fiddle was in pieces and my friend got it pretty cheap. No great prize but my friend and I both are kinda' fascinated by the lengthy advertisement printed on the label inside. I asked him to copy it since there was no way to photograph. Posting here for general interest and comment.
Mr. L.T. Smith sure sounds like quite the entrepreneur.
BTW $200 1912 dollars add up to more than $6,000 today, but I have doubts about the story.

Didn't know they had ball point pens in 1912—sure looks like one. Also note "violen". Also talking about himself in the 3rd person?

Could it be a later, not original recollection about the instrument..?

Sorry for not explaining - the photo is my friend's note which he copied from the printed label inside the fiddle.
