Does anyone know the tune tom waters breakdown or something like that. An old fiddler told me it was a great fiddle tune. He didn't have time to play it for me because we were on stage at the time. I would like to learn it before I see him again in 2 weeks.

It was called: "Tumwater Breakdown". Tumwater is old country slang for swamp water. I used to play this tune decades ago and I forgot about it until you mentioned it. It was an uncommon tune and I don't remember how it goes at the moment, but maybe it will come back to me. It had a Cajun flavor.

Jerry Correll and Don Rich are two fiddlers who recorded this tune. You could probably find one of Jerry's recordings at countysales.com. Don Rich recorded it on an old Buck Owens and the Buckaroo's lp and should be available somewhere.
